Course Content

Before we start this course, we will first look at what is covered during the training. The course is divided into categories and within each category, you will find several videos. You can pause and watch again any of the videos in the course. We update our courses regularly and you will be able to see any replacements and also any new videos as they are released. This may be an online course but if you have any questions during the course, you can contact us by phone, email or use our online chat facility on any of our websites. You will work through the course videos in order. And now we will give you an overview of what's contained in the course.

In the first section, we will look at the fears of first aid, scene safety, DRAB and the ABCDs, how to choose face shields, adult bag valve masks and the recovery position, as well as care for the patient. In cardiac arrest and CPR, we cover many different subjects including adult, infant and child CPR, heart attacks, AED use, drowning, improving compressions and improving breaths. The choking management category includes adult choking and child choking, ensuring you know how to deal with emergencies should it arise.

Bleeding management is another category included in the Sports First Aid course. Demonstrating how to treat embedded objects and how to deal with serious and minor external bleeding and injuries. The injury category within the course will inform you of subjects such as strains and sprains, splints, dislocated shoulders and joints, eye, chest and abdominal injuries, hot and cold injuries and dental injuries. We also look at bites and stings, snake bites, hydration in sports and cramps in sports and exercise.

The final subject in the course is illnesses. The subjects covered are allergic reactions, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, electrical injuries and hyper-ventilation.
